The Urban League of Portland has created a program built for Black people by Black people that encourages BIPOC and womxn success in all industries, including construction. This program aims to address the disparity of women and Black people in the construction industry while simultaneously launching them into their career. They accommodate all needs.
The Construction Careers Training Institute refers candidates to apprenticeship after finishing their program. These programs offer high wage for low investing time. No experience required. GED or High School Diploma (or willing to finish one of two) is sufficient. The program introduces candidates to tools such as workshops with construction companies, resume sharpening, and working one-on-one to get candidates to their next step. The program is open enrollment.
