The census 2020 deadline is September 30th and it’s creeping up fast! If you’re wondering what all those mailers in your inbox are about, be sure to take a closer look.
The census aims to collect data on every single household in the United States to take a closer look at what our neighborhoods are made of. The data is used to decide how many congressional seats your state gets and the amount of funding that goes into your community. According to The Dolores Huerta Foundation, your community could lose up to $20,000 for each person not counted over the next ten years. That’s money for firefighters, schools and other critical services that improve the lives of our neighbors.
If you haven’t filled out your card yet, don’t worry – it’s never been easier! 2020 is the first year that you can complete the census online (of course mail and phone options are still available) and it only takes a few minutes. Complete it now at: my2020census.gov
